Are the Qualifications of the Authors Appropriate?

Look for evidence of (1) at least one well-known researcher, (2) a history of research training, and (3) affiliations with a reputable institution. While little-known investigators can do good work and poor work can issue from prestigious institutions, these guidelines should be helpful in guiding you to credible research. Funding from national bodies and charities independent of commercial interests; obtaining highly competitive grants from these agencies speaks to the credibility of the authors.
