Botulinum toxin Type A (BTX) (OnabotulinumtoxinA - trade name Botox®) has therapeutic as well as cosmetic uses in dentistry. The Botulinum Toxin Therapies for Orofacial Pain and Dental Esthetics course will define BTX, give a brief history, discuss general and dental uses, explore the mechanism of action, list side effects, consider administration guidelines, suggest patient management techniques and provide additional resources.
