Dr. Hussein Basma received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Damascus University, Syria in 2009. In 2014, he completed Certificate training in Prosthodontics from Lebanese University; Beruit, Lebanon. Dr. Basma is currently in his third year of training to receive a Master of Science and Certificate in Periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr Basma will complete his program in June 2018 and has been recognized with the UAB Graduate Fellowship for his postdoctoral research. His original research projects, "A Randomized Trial to Evaluate the Effect of Allograft Bone Particle Size on Histomorphometric and Clinical Outcomes Following Ridge Augmentation (Lateral Bone Augmentation) Procedures." has been recognized as a finalist at the 2017 Billy M. Pennel award and Dr. Basma also was selected for top honors at the 2017 BioHorizons symposium for his presentation, "Clinical and Patient-Centered Outcomes Following Treatment of Multiple Gingival Recessions Using Acellular Dermal Matrix."
